Business Development Associate – Commercial Finance

 

BIZCAP® (Business Capital since 2002) is looking for a Business Development Associate to assist with driving new business and relationships nationally. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established company with an innovative, entrepreneurial culture and play an integral role in growing existing and developing new markets. We are looking for candidates with leadership skills, business development and financial experience, as well as considerable understanding of the overall credit market. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working effectively within a team, functioning successfully in group situations, as well as the discipline and motivation to work independently. This position requires an individual with the ability to understand and think strategically about our value proposition, apply our services to specific industries, business situations and general market conditions to advance the goals of our company, our partners and our clients.

BizCap is a leading commercial finance & advisory firm with 20 years of experience structuring and delivering customized financial solutions to hyper-growth and distressed middle market companies nationwide. BizCap originates, underwrites and secures resourceful working capital for companies in special situations, especially when conventional capital sources are elusive or not an option. We have a proven track record of success in a wide cross section of industries and also provide strategic advisory services, including sell-side advisory and debt restructuring.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Understand and effectively communicate the BizCap value proposition in all situations
  • Drive business development efforts and generate qualified leads through calling, meeting with and attending industry events (when appropriate)
  • Able to drive business and name recognition through strategic use of marketing materials, pitch decks, articles, reports and other digital avenues
  • Stay abreast of industry and market trends with the ability to incorporate, add value, to dealings with partners and clients, as well as for internal strategies
  • Strengthen and nurture existing while developing new relationships with industry professionals, including: commercial banks, PE firms, institutional lenders, accountants, lawyers, etc.
  • Drive sales and build company pipeline by identifying new business opportunities, engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers
  • Create strategic growth plan aligned with BizCap goals
  • Execute strategic business development plans while working closely with BizCap’s sales and credit teams
  • Prepare and present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and challenges in the market and develop follow-on strategies

Qualifications:

The right person will have demonstrated experience, skills and understanding of the credit and financial services environments and possess the interpersonal and communication skills to effectively present BizCap’s role and value in each market situation.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of relevant business development and financial experience with a commercial bank, investment bank, institutional lender, debt capital markets; related professional services sales experience may also be considered
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Demonstrated experience building a book of business, winning and closing deals
  • Exremely organized, reliable, and a motivated self-starter
  • Strong financial analysis and project management skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to frame business issues and apply data analysis to support strategic decision-making opportunities
  • Strong presentation and marketing skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; Salesforce CRM experience is a plus
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with ability to manage multiple projects and get to the finish line
  • Demonstrated work ethic with ability to work independently and within a team, with a positive, proactive attitude

 

Compensation:
Base salary + commission on closed deals + discretionary end of year bonus. Salary is commensurate with experience; additional compensation is based on company and individual performance. Full medical benefits and matching 401K plan.
