Erik Ostebo, Chief Credit Officer at Business Capital, has over 20 years of professional experience in providing asset-based working capital and structured term debt financial solutions for both middle market companies and venture capital start-ups. He has worked on over $2 billion of business loans.
Reed Upson is a Vice President at Business Capital. He plays a central role in leading the business development and credit managers, servicing relationships and clients, and underwriting credit transactions. He works closely with partners and clients to structure and deploy commercial financing for small to mid-sized businesses.
Jen McCarthy, Marketing Director at Business Capital, has extensive experience in public relations and marketing, as well as print and online publishing. She is responsible for overall marketing and public relations strategies, as well as the copywriting, production and design of all print and online collateral. Jen also manages the company website and optimization efforts.
Dom is a Business Relationship & Credit Manager at Business Capital. He plays a central role in underwriting credit transactions, managing and developing relationships, and working closely with partners and clients to structure and deploy commercial financing for small to mid-sized businesses.

Justin McCarthy, Executive Vice President of Real Estate at Business Capital, has over 15 years of experience in mortgage lending and lending oversight. He first entered banking in the early 1990’s as corporate remittance banking manager at First Chicago NBD headquarters on LaSalle Avenue in the heart of the Chicago financial district. Here, he oversaw remittances of billions of dollars per month to various corporate accounts.
Robert A. Sick
Bob Sick is a seasoned expert in rapid transition CEO /Advisory work for companies in the $10M – $200M sales range. With over 20 years of experience as a CEO and in private equity, his background has focused on turnaround, crisis, and rapid transition situations, including the necessary financial restructuring required in these scenarios. As such, he is uniquely positioned to provide his CRO expertise to Business Capital’s clients. With his long history as a CEO, Bob has the specialized background and the detached perspective necessary for a Chief Restructuring Officer who will make the hard choices and do the job right.
Cynthia Curtis is an Account Manager at Business Capital. She joined the firm in 2009, during which time she has managed operations and been an integral part of the finance and restructuring team. A graduate of Occidental College and The Juilliard School Internship Program, Cynthia’s previous management experience includes serving as Production Stage Manager for Off-Broadway productions in New York City and Operations Manager for a large real estate appraisal firm in Los Angeles.
Veronica Horton is a Research and Data Analyst at Business Capital who recently joined the firm in 2016. She is responsible for researching and maintaining the company’s CRM, and compiling contact and industry marketing data. She also assists with collateral for company presentations. Veronica holds a BA from San Francisco State University and previously worked conducting tours and educational programs aboard the USS Hornet.
